Activities

HTMA has joined forces with the Hike for KaTREEna organization in New Orleans to help replace some of the over 100,000 trees destroyed in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. Members of HTMA will be traveling to New Orleans in February to plant trees and to do some sightseeing while in the exciting city of New Orleans.  HTMA will be holding a variety of fundraisers to help purchase trees to be planted and to help defray the cost of travel for the students. Some of the fundraising activities include selling “Hike for KaTREEna” T-shirts and providing people the opportunity to purchase a tree or trees to be planted by the Hike for KaTREEna organization.

Read more about the KaTREEna effort here.

If you are interested in participating or learning more about ways to become involved with this,
please email Rita McClain, Associate Professor and HTMA sponsor.
