The Library, located on the first floor of the Academic Center, provides information to students in a variety of formats. The circulating collection includes books, periodicals, pamphlets, annual reports, and over 3,000 audiocassette dictation tapes. Reserve materials and reference books are designated for the library use. Microcomputers, a CD-ROM version of The Des Moines Register, a scanner, and access to the Internet are available for use in the Library.
The Library also participates in the Iowa Open Access, Access Plus, and the Iowa Private Academic Libraries resource sharing programs. Online communication with other information sources is available through the Library's reference department. Several electronic reference sources, such as Britannica Online, Grolier Online, Facts on File News Service, Infoweb/Newsbank (archives of over 75 newspapers including USA Today, Des Moines Register, The Gazette, Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and The Christian Science Monitor), netLibrary, and dictionaries, and almanacs can be accessed via the Internet from any campus-wide networked computer.
