TRYOUTS
Tryouts are held during the third week of fall term in order to allow new incoming students to tryout. Anyone interested in tryouts should attend the informational meeting during week two and the pre-tryout practices. A schedule of dates and times will be e-mailed to all students at the beginning of fall term. Previous cheerleading experience is helpful, but not required. If interested or have further questions please contact Coach Danielle Edwards at edwardsd@aib.edu.

CHEER ACTIVITIES
AIB Cheerleaders are involved in cheer related activities throughout the entire year. In the fall we prepare for the basketball season and participate in fundraising. During the basketball season we cheer for all home basketball games. In the off season we continue our fundraising efforts, practice, have group outings, and prepare for the upcoming year.

SCHOLARSHIP
A $500 annual scholarship is awarded to cheerleaders who are enrolled full-time in an associates degree program and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The scholarship is awarded over three terms and the cheerleader must remain an active member of the squad for the entire year.

ELIGIBILTY
AIB Cheerleaders must be enrolled in classes and have a GPA of 2.0 or above to be eligible to cheer. Bachelor Degree students are eligible to cheer if they were a member of the squad during their Associate Degree program, and can continue to commit their time to practices and squad activities.

PRACTICES
Practices are held weekly on Sunday evenings. Cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices. Failure to participate in practice could result in ineligibility and/or loss of cheerleading scholarship.

UNIFORMS
Cheerleaders are asked to purchase their own uniform and will be reimbursed up to 50% based funds available through fundraising efforts. Uniforms are measured and ordered to custom fit each individual and are theirs to keep at the end of their cheerleading career. Full re-imbursement may be available to those with financial hardship (as deemed by financial aid).
