AIB College of Business is pleased to offer scholarships and grants for Associate and Bachelor degree-seeking students during the 09/10 academic year. AIB allocates scholarship and grant funds to students in an amount up to $17,200 per student.  Eligible students will receive the one scholarship that maximizes their award potential.  In addition, eligible students may also qualify for the AIB Monroe Colston Diversity Leadership Grant, Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, EO Fenton Alumni & Housing Grant, AIB Out-of-State Grant, AIB Service Members Scholarship, Girls Basketball Scholarship, Golf Scholarship, Cheerleading Scholarship, Huisinga Memorial Scholarship, Dollars for Scholars, HS Senior Grant, Iowa Court Reporters Association Scholarship, and Tuition Exchange Program. To be awarded any of the following scholarships or grants, students will need to be accepted and will also need to complete the AIB Institutional Financial Aid Application including any additional required forms or documentation. AIB will freeze tuition for students who enroll and maintain full-time status. Additional scholarships may be available.
 

FOUNDER'S SCHOLARSHIP Full tuition scholarship - $4,300 per term (Up to $17,200/year)
Named after Everett O. Fenton, founder of AIB College of Business in 1921.
AIB will offer up to five Founder's Scholarships per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • First-year students that meet the scholarship requirements and attend AIB immediately after high school (following fall term).
  • Apply and be accepted to AIB no later than April 1.
  • Complete FAFSA and AIB Institutional Aid Application no later than April 1.
  • Attend AIB Founder's Scholarship Day. Participants must complete an essay and interview as part of the scholarship competition.
  • 3.75 cumulative GPA and top 10% of HS class     OR     3.75 cumulative GPA and 28 or higher ACT
  • RENEWABLE: Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA

    HONORS SCHOLARSHIP $1,900 per term (Up to $7,600/year) for full-time students
    QUALIFICATIONS: $950 per term for part-time students (2 classes)
           3.50 cumulative GPA and top 25% of HS class
    OR
      3.50 cumulative GPA and 25 or higher ACT
    OR  For those transferring in 12 more college credits the cumulative GPA will be used. RENEWABLE: Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA

    ALUMNI AND FRIENDS SCHOLARSHIP $1,200 per term (Up to $4,800/year) for full-time students
    QUALIFICATIONS: $600 per term for part-time students (2 classes)
    3.00 cumulative GPA and top 50% of HS class     OR     3.00 cumulative GPA and 20 or higher ACT
    RENEWABLE: Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

    NON-TRADITIONAL GRANT $500 or $1,000 per term for full-time students
    This Non-Traditional Grant is based on financial need. $250 or $500 per term for part-time students (2 classes)
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    24 years or older and have not previously attended another college or university
                                                      OR
    Earned a GED equivalency and have not attended another college or university.
    RENEWABLE: Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA

    MONROE COLSTON DIVERSITY LEADERSHIP GRANT $500 per term for full-time students
    AIB will offer up to 15 Monroe Colston Diversity Leadership Grants per academic year to incoming students who are from diverse backgrounds. The leadership grant is available to minority students and students with disabilities who are U.S. citizens.

    The grant is available to full-time students and is awarded each fall term. The Monroe Colston Diversity Leadership Grants are competitive and require an application.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Apply and be accepted for admission by April 30.
  • Complete the financial aid process by April 30.
  • Complete the Monroe Colston Diversity Leadership Grant application by April 30.
  • A letter of recommendation from a non-family member is encouraged, but not required.
  • Factors that will be considered include:
  • Examples of community service efforts demonstrated by volunteer work that positively affected community diversity.
  • Examples of leadership involvement and/or potential.
  • Candidate’s racial, demographic, ethnic background, disability, or demographic characteristics.
  • RENEWABLE: Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.

    The Monroe Colston Diversity Leadership Committee will review all applicants and determine the grant recipients.

    PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIPS (Bachelor's Degree Only)
    AIB PTK members:
    $500 per term with 3.5 cumulative GPA for full-time students
    $250 per term with 3.5 cumulative GPA for part-time students (2 classes)
    $250 per term with 3.25-3.49 cumulative GPA for full-time students
    $125 per term with 3.25-3.49 cumulative GPA for part-time students (2 classes)
     
    Transfer students PTK members:
    $500 per term with 3.5 cumulative GPA for full-time students
    $250 per term with 3.5 cumulative GPA for part-time students (2 classes)
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship is open to previously active members of PTK who have completed an Associate's degree from AIB or an accredited college/university and attend AIB immediately after completion of said degree.
    Students may receive this scholarship in addition to one of the aforementioned merit scholarships/grants, not to exceed the tuition cost per term.
    RENEWABLE: Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
