COMPUTER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ONLINE CLASS

The following are the minimum computer system requirements for students taking an online class at AIB:
  • 1 GH procesor or higher
  • CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
  • 512 MB of memory or higher
  • Minimum 56k modem (DSL or cable modem strongly recommended. Dial up modem may experience loss in functionality in certain courses.)
  • Operating System - Windows 2000 or XP
  • Internet browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.1)
  • Internet service capable of running Internet Explorer
  • Sound card with speakers or headphones
  • Real Audio's RealOne Player (free version at www.realone.com)

    Aside from an Internet browser, no special software is needed to take an online class at AIB with the exception of two courses.  Additional software is required for OA102 Records Management/Data Entry and AC340 Peachtree Accounting.  Online students have access to the software on the AIB server, including the Microsoft Office suite.
