How do I get a housing assignment?
The Director of Residence Life makes roommate and apartment assignments each term and attempts to honor requests from students. To be placed in housing students must first be accepted into the College and then fill out a Housing Application. The housing application is important to complete, as it reserves an apartment for you. You are able to choose on the application whether you prefer a one- or two- bedroom apartment. The assignments are made by the dates the housing application is received.

How do I get paired with a roommate?
When residents apply for housing they are also asked to fill out a Roommate Preference Form. Your answers on this form are used to match you with a person who had similar responses.

May I have guests stay with me in my apartment?
A guest may stay in the apartment only if it is agreeable to all resident of the apartment. Residents in AIB housing have 24-hour visitation, seven days a week. However, a guest may not stay more than three days at a time not more than ten days in any 30-day period. For more information refer to the AIB Student Handbook.

What do I need to bring to the apartment?
Deciding what to bring to your apartment can be a difficult task. The best idea is to contact your roommate to find out what they are bringing to ensure there are not 2 microwaves, toasters, and other big items. Also, remember the apartments are partially furnished with beds, dressers, a table, chairs, a sofa, and loveseat. If you are interested in bringing your own furniture please contact the Director of Residence Life, killpackk@aib.edu to apply for approval. The Apartment Checklist contains a list of suggested items you should bring to your apartment.
