TERM SYSTEM
Each academic term is in session for 11 weeks, and new terms begin four times each year. The College calendar lists the exact dates. One quarter hour is equivalent to ten contact hours of classroom instruction each term (one contact hour equals 50 minutes). Most classes are 4.5 quarter hours.

STANDARD ACADEMIC LOAD, SCHEDULES AND ELECTIVES
Most full-time degree students carry an academic load of 18 quarter hours (4 classes) each term. Attending full-time, all associate degree majors can be completed in seven terms, or one year and nine months. The bachelor's degree can be completed in an additional four terms or twelve months. To enroll in more than 18 quarter hours per term, schedules must be approved by the Chief Academic Officer. A 3.0 cumulative GPA is required to overload, and there is an additional tuition charge. Students should contact their academic advisor to request an overload. Class schedules for each term are issued to current students two weeks before the end of the current term. A student's schedule may be withheld for academic reasons or if there are outstanding financial obligations to the College.
